Hansen in the fall

I will never forget this warm fall day or the funny faces and happy smilies of little Hansen.

I can't get over these sweet photos I took Monday of Hansen. I think the best part of taking pictures is seeing life play out through the lens of my camera. I saw this little girl run to her grandparents, crack walnuts on the back porch, and smile constantly for a pack of smarties. When I'm old and gray toasting to Hansen's success at a dinner party I'll have the best things to say about her and the spunk she had on this day. The outfits are absolutely darling and I can see my mom's face when I think about how cute they are. She loved dressing me and my sisters up in the cutest matching smock dresses! Who wouldn't?

There are so many sweet photos from this session but for now I'll share these few. Fall is the best time of year for photos outside they are moody and warm and perfect! This session really got me thinking about the moments I wish I had photos of. When I was little my sisters and I would spend nights at my Aunt Jan's house and we would make sugar cookies. We'd pick the green glass pyrex bowl and get to baking but mostly eating sugar cookie dough on her kitchen counter. It is a memory I can smell and hear and most definitely taste when I think back on it and I wish we had photos of all of us piled up on her blue tile counters to commemorate the magical time we had there as little girls. This is why I love photos, because Hansen is days older than the moments we took these photos in! Time doesn't slow down, even for the most planned of us. What a gift photos are!

Here to make memory makers out of busy people and grin behind my camera lens all the while!

My Best,

Shelby
